Abyss
LeagueFollow a cracking rift that spawns monsters, then dive into an Abyssal Depths dungeon.
What it is
Abyss encounters appear in maps as a glowing crack in the ground. As you approach, monsters spawn from it and the crack spreads. Follow it to the end for a larger Abyssal Trove chest. Occasionally the crack leads to an Abyssal Depths portal — a short dungeon with a boss and much better loot including Abyss Jewels.
When you encounter it
Abyss cracks appear randomly in maps. They're hard to miss — the rift glows and cracks noticeably.

- •Abyss Jewels are unique jewels that can only roll on jewels from Abyss — powerful for some builds
- •Stygian Vise is the best belt base in the game — it has a built-in Abyss Jewel socket
- •The Abyssal Depths has two tiers — Tier 2 has a harder boss and better rewards
- •Abyssal monsters spawn quickly — keep moving or you'll get surrounded
Tips for new players
- 💡Always follow Abyss cracks to the end — the trove is worth it
- 💡If you see the Depths portal, always go in — the rewards are significantly better
