Delve

Endgame

Descend infinitely into the Azurite Mine — the deeper you go, the better the rewards.

What it is

Delve is a side-progression system where you follow a crawler (a moving light source) into an infinitely deep mine called the Azurite Mine. Darkness kills you, so you must stay near the crawler or carry Sulphite Flares. You use Sulphite (collected from maps) as fuel to go deeper. The deeper you go, the harder the encounters and the better the unique items and fossils you find.

When you encounter it

Niko the Mad appears in maps and asks you to collect Azurite and Sulphite. Once you have enough Sulphite, you can fuel the crawler in your hideout's Mine Encampment and start delving.

Key concepts

  • Sulphite is the fuel for delving — collect it from Niko encounters in maps
  • Azurite is used to upgrade your flares, dynamite, and darkness resistance
  • Darkness slowly drains your life/ES — flares give temporary light bubbles
  • Biome walls contain hidden rooms with fossils, currency, and unique items
  • Depth determines difficulty and the tier of rewards — aim to push as deep as your build can handle

Tips for new players

  • 💡Upgrade your Darkness Resistance and Flare capacity at the Voltaxic Generator first
  • 💡Collect Sulphite from every Niko encounter in maps — it goes fast
  • 💡Look for glowing walls when the crawler stops — blast them with dynamite for secret rooms
  • 💡Fossils in Delve are valuable crafting materials — sell them if you're not crafting
