Expedition

What it is

Expedition involves placing explosive detonators in a sequence on excavation sites, then watching the chain explosion uncover buried relics and monsters. Afterward you visit merchants — Tujen (barter), Rog (crafting gambling), Dannig (artifacts), and Gwennen (gambling for unique items) — to exchange your expedition artifacts for items or currency.

When you encounter it

Expedition encounters appear in maps as excavation sites with colored runestones. Click the first detonator, then chain-click more before the sequence fires.

Key concepts

• •Remnants (orange markers) add modifiers to the explosion — some boost rewards, some make monsters dangerous
• •Try to detonate through as many chests and remnants as possible in one chain
• •Gwennen gambling costs artifacts and can give any unique item in the game
• •Rog crafting can produce amazing items but is highly RNG
• •Expedition Logbooks (dropped in maps) are dedicated expedition areas with much better rewards

Tips for new players

• 💡Plan your explosion path before detonating — you can't change direction mid-chain
• 💡Avoid remnants that say 'monsters are immune to X' if X is how you kill things
• 💡Sell excess artifacts to Tujen for Exotic Coinage, then trade for currency
• 💡Gwennen is fun to gamble with occasionally — but don't spend your whole budget there early on
