Ritual

League

Kill monsters in blood circles to earn Tribute, then spend it on a randomized vendor.

What it is

Ritual encounters appear as circular altars. Activating one creates a blood circle of monsters — kill them all to earn Tribute (Ritual currency). After clearing a map's rituals, you open the Ritual vendor and spend your Tribute on items from a randomized pool. Items you can't afford can be Deferred (put in a queue to appear in future rituals).

When you encounter it

Blood circle altars appear in maps. Maps can have up to 4 ritual sites, each adding to your Tribute pool.

Key concepts

  • Tribute doesn't carry over between maps — spend it all before leaving
  • Deferring items rerolls them into your future ritual pools
  • Higher Tribute income = more ritual monsters killed = more options at the vendor
  • Ritual-exclusive uniques include powerful items like Thread of Hope, Voices, and Megalomaniac jewels
  • The Ritual vendor pool is deterministic for the map — rerolling costs Tribute

Tips for new players

  • 💡Always complete all rituals in a map before opening the vendor — more Tribute = more options
  • 💡Defer valuable items you can't afford — they'll reappear later
  • 💡Rituals can contain extremely powerful jewels worth checking regularly
  • 💡Early on: just buy whatever gear upgrades appear — don't save for specific items
